I've been obsessed with wildlife and the natural world since I was a kid. Being in the woods always felt magical and I spent my happiest days playing in the local creek, collection cicada skeleton, wrangling garter snakes, and making art. After a decade working in military research, I returned to my roots and pursued natural science illustration at the University of Washington.

I love the scientific illustration process because it forces you to slow down, really look at a species, and notice details we often miss. I love the process of nature journaling, because it’s not about creating beautiful art, it’s about getting curious and connecting with the natural world around you. In 2024, I completed a nature journaling educator certificate with the Wild Wonder Foundation and continue to draw the world around me and share this practice with others.

That same fascination with nature eventually spilled over into collecting. I've been a thrifter since high school and have a hard time leaving behind a particularly good animal figurine, old field guide, wildlife print, or other nature-inspired object. Creature Vintage grew out of that interest: a curated collection of vintage wildlife art, books, objects, and apparel that I find interesting, beautiful, unusual, or worth giving another life.

These days, my work and collecting are really two sides of the same thing: paying attention to the natural world and sharing what I find along the way.
